Artistically Creative Camps are for 4-8 yrs, Kinder Choir for 4 to 9 yrs and Piano Camp for 6-9 yrs.

Small, intimate groups. No more than 10-12 in a group- special attention for each child!! 

Monday - Thursday,  9-12 noon in Carpinteria (July 11-21) and 12:30-3:30pm in Santa Barbara (July 11-Aug 25)

July 11-14.  CARPINTERIA CAMP 1 with Molly    
9:00-12:00 noon
KinderChoir- Do Re Mi, 4 to 9 yrs
2 hours- Singing / Vocal Development/ Music / Outdoor Games / Instrument Instruction / Creative Movement 
1 hour- Cooking Class
Do Re Mi Choir Camp. Children will learn Solfege hand signs, an understanding of major and minor scales, breathing technique and solo and tutti singing. We will sing songs from around the world like che che koolay, do re mi and kapulu kane. Come and join us to explore their first and own instrument, while building self-confidence in what they want to sing and say! Classes also include movement, instruments, drumming and outdoor music, singing games and cooking their own food and snacks!

July 11-14.  SB CAMP 2 with Michelle
1:30-4:30pm
Piano Camp, 6-10 yrs
2 hours- Piano Study / Music Theory / Singing / Orff and Instrument Instruction / Creative Movement
1 hour- Art Instruction 
Dancing Fingers, Hands and Bodies will love this week! During this week long course we will be not only learning to play a handful of songs on the keyboard/piano, we will be exploring the exciting world behind the music. An in depth study of theory and culture that will make this music class really come alive with dancing and games! The piano skills learned during this time will help your child not only mathematically but allow him/her to be excited and comfortable with playing the piano!!! This is a perfect introduction to get ready for Michelle's MAJOR IN MUSIC Class, Fall 2011- Piano and Ukulele Classes.

July 18-21. SB CAMP 3  with Kathy

Tell Me A Tale, 4 to 8 yrs
2 hours- Music / Singing / Instrument Instruction / Creative Movement 
1 hour- Art Instruction
+ Music Kit $30 (CD of multi-cultural music and book of folk stories used in camp)
Listen to the storyteller.....and act out folktales from around the world with chants, songs, instruments, movement and drama play. Each day we weave a musical, creative, cultural experience from a "story" of the country, using the music, dance, drumming, language and culture of each place- N. America, Malaysia, India and Africa. This IS their favorite camp....don't miss it...!

Aug 1-4 SB CAMP 5 with Kathy

Jambo Africa- Drums, Drums, Drums, 4 to 8 yrs
2 hours- Music / Singing / Instrument Instruction / Creative Movement 
1 hour- Art Instruction

Learn beginning jembe drum while playing with rhythms, song and chants of Africa. Folk dances of Africa and stories of the infamous-Anansi, The Spider-are part of this week!

Aug 8-11.  SB CAMP 6 with Kathy
12:30-3:30pm
All Keyed UP!, 4 to 8 yrs
2 hours- Music / Singing / Instrument Instruction / Creative Movement 
1 hour- Art Instruction
+ Music Kit $17 (CD of music and literature used in camp)
A keyboard and music by the well-known composer, J.S. Bach, help your child get ready and familiar with the piano. The answer is right at the tip of your fingers! The same fine motor skills, brain-gym wiring and hand-eye coordination are all fun and essential elements for your young and budding musician!! Camp is for new and beginning piano players.
+Home Kit: $17. Pair of castanets instrument, Home CD, and magazine-style Family Guide (includes the class story Coppertop and the Four Keyboards).

 
Aug 15-18. SB CAMP 7  with Kathy

Knock, Knock. Who's There? More Musical Learning...and LOTS of laughter-the best part about our camps! Come hear, learn and tell funny jokes (a joke book is part of the kit for this camps)...while coming up with some of the things kids don't normally think of as instruments to make music, will hit just the right tone- their funny bones! Laughter and Creative Fun is the best medicine for all ages!
