PIANO - ALL KEYED UP! (AKU)

Let’s get all keyed UP and excited to play not just one, but four instruments in our piano classes- keyboard, glockenspiel (barred instrument), dulcimer (string folk instrument) and recorder (wind instrument)! A music class that allows your child to explore various instruments and modalities of music. No other music program offers more! Piano-Instrument classes that focus on your child’s Music Skills AND Creative Spirit! The answer is right at the tip of their fingers! Children learn music theory and use music notation to play a variety of instruments, participate in group ensembles, while developing problem-solving and literacy skills.

What your child will experience with a small group of no more than 6 students: Class begins with 15-20 minutes of focused piano time (singing as we play!), and then 30-40 minutes of Movin’ n Groovin’! Class components include keyboard instruction, instrument play-alongs songs (with glockenspiel, string dulcimer and wind recorder), note reading, singing, drum beats and rhythms, movement and games. Our talented Music Teachers encourage children to be creative, to initiate their own ideas and to respond in their own ways with a small group of musical buddies to play and laugh along with. Kindermusik with Kathy uncovers the engaging musical world while building your child's confidence, curiosity and creativity skills. It's about the unfolding PROCESS...not only performance!

“I first enrolled my son in Kindermusik when he was a year old. Even at that early stage, it was obvious that he loved music and Kathy’s classes were so much fun – singing, dancing, drumming and clapping. Kathy is one of the most gifted teachers I have ever come across; she is infectiously passionate and enthusiastic about what she does, and children respond to her like she is the Pied Piper....My son continued the program with Kathy on and off for around seven years before finally deciding that he wanted to learn the Viola. He now regularly participates in the Junior Strings group (part of the SB Youth Symphony). I have no doubt that the years spent with Kathy helped build his musical foundation and contributed significantly to his interest in music.”
